Lullaby for Caranlachwen by alarie-tano Lullaby for Caranlachwen by alarie-tano
This is my illustration of Avaras (:iconavarahaiel:) poem below (done for the theme of the month at john-howe.com):

Lullaby for Caranlachwen

Fields of tall grasses
Swaying in song
Tall fair men sing as well
The horses beat time
Galloping the plains

Home to golden-thatched hall
Horselord King fair and tall
Northeastward roam his eyes
Hidden deep in the Greenwood
The flowing flame of gold

(watercolors, 90 x 60 cm)

Dude...awesome...
I love the fish-eye-lens look to the scene.
Would you be cool with having your art in a concept artbook?

This is extremely awesome! You are a very good fantasy artist. This reminds me of John Howes works somehow. Do you know him?

I should start a chain of medieval dining.

How long to realize your paintings?

Most of the paintings take up to a month (those that are 59 x 44 cm) smaller ones wouldn't need that much time. This one is even bigger, I think it took me about 2 weeks.

Nice Work, when you water colour, do you start with the background and layer until you have the men on horses, or do you paint in sections?

Nono, normally I work from back to front, so first the sky and the mist, then the hills ontop of the mist, then the forest....

This is just amazing, the way hills disappear among the mist... I really can't figure how you did it. You really improve with every painting. One question: How did you painted the rays of sun coming through the clouds?
